About

Cognitive Behavioural Therapists (CBT) & Counsellors North Tyneside

About Us

We're a friendly, experienced team dedicated to helping people with common mental health problems.

Blue Talking Therapies is a fully confidential service offering a range of proven therapies to effectively treat common mental health problems such as panic disorder, anxiety, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), to name a few.

We provide this help from our comfortable therapy rooms in North Shields town centre, as well as remotely.

Getting to us is easy. We are accessible via the Metro system, local bus routes and there is plenty of free parking close to our building.

History

We’ve been helping people across the North East since 2012

2012

Originally Blue Therapy Clinic, it all began in the eaves of an old Victorian building in Whitley Bay.  Founding directors, Becci and Johnny, set up an out-of-hours therapy service to support the local community.  BLUE is an acronym of their founding mission; Believe, Learn, Understand and Explore – to help people leave therapy with understanding and positive changes to their feelings and lives.

2015

As the number of people seeking help grew, the service expanded to Blue Talking Therapies, employing fully accredited staff to deliver high quality therapy to the local area with a new mission: to end stigma and talk openly about mental health for all.

2021

Blue moved to larger premises in Howard Street, North Shields – growing client demand and the pandemic both highlighted the need for further space to offer a comfortable, safe service.

2022

Blue Talking Therapies  continues to grow its expertise; a team of nine multidisciplined staff who all bring incredible experience and expertise to our clients and who all share the ethos of Blue.

  • To provide evidence-based, quality care, accessible in a timely manner with positive results.
  • To offer a normalised, stigma-free environment from which we “Treat everyone who walks through our door as we would wish to be treated”.
  • To listen to each client as an individual and offer them personalised care, that meets their own goals and always offers change.
