CBT is a talking therapy based on the principle that if you can change your negative thought processes, you can positively impact your feelings, your thoughts and actions.
EMDR is a very interactive psychotherapy that focuses on you recalling the traumatic memory or memories and how it is stored in the brain.
Counselling is a talking therapy. We provide counselling on a one-to- one basis, which involves a trained counsellor listening and helping you find ways to cope and deal with your own emotional issues.

I’m a lot calmer and happier than I used to be; in therapy you learn more about yourself, what you’re about and what you’re not, what you’ll tolerate and what you won’t – that can have a really positive affect across your life. It really isn’t what you’d expect, and it’s been transformative for me.
The CBT tools Blue gave me have allowed me to recognise things more, which has really helped enormously. I’ve never had the sense that my therapist is going to judge me. he sees everything from a behavioural point of view which isn’t overly clinical either, just very, very friendly and helpful. He made me feel listened to as a person, not as a patient or client. I feel much more able to observe myself rather than get stuck in behaviour like I did.
Being taught about yourself may feel daunting, but it’s the only way to truly understand what might be going on inside your head. And once you know that, everything you experienced to begin with, becomes less scary. I really would, and have, recommended Blue Talking Therapies.

A mutual friend talked to me about therapy so I decide to do it and I contacted Johnny at Blue Talking Therapies. The whole experience was very different to how I expected; Johnny showed me a completely different way of seeing my life for the better and being able to see myself as I really am, not what I had wrongly believed I was. That alone has been extremely valuable.
I cannot stress how much Nikki changed my life for the better; she is kind, responsive and deeply skilled at what she does. She has helped me to work through my trauma in a way that feels safe and manageable. I always leave our sessions feeling heard, validated, and with practical tools to use in my day-to-day life.
I came to therapy with the expectation that I would get a quick fix and would leave having no further worries. I found however after a number of sessions, that it was my behaviour that influenced my worry. I now understand worry better and feel I have the tools and ability to control it.
